What is the benefit to our members?
Active members of your organization could be eligible for up to a 10% group discount on their automobile insurance policy through the EIA. This discount could save your members hundreds of dollars on their auto insurance. The exact amount of the discount is determined by analyzing your current members’ automobile claims data.
Why should our organization offer members a group discount on auto insurance?
1) Our mission to establish Pay-As-You-Drive insurance most likely aligns with your organization’s environmental mission. PAYD insurance raises consumer awareness of vehicle miles traveled and, as a result, may reduce vehicle congestion and emissions.
2) EIA policyholders are required to hold an active membership with your organization at policy renewal in order to continue to receive their EIA discount. This gives members an economic incentive to renew their membership.
What would our staff be required to do?
Collaborating with EIA requires minimal staff time. EIA works with your membership/development team to complete the two-page application for a group discount with the Commissioner of Insurance. Following your group’s discount approval, EIA develops all materials, organizes, and pays for the mailings to your members. We also design a letter to mail to your members to introduce them to this new member benefit. After the initial letter, each member receives a follow up post card, timed to arrive the month before his or her insurance policy renews. We encourage our groups to promote this unique offer in your external communications (website, email updates, events, article or advertisement in your magazine/newsletters). EIA staff is also available to participate in speaking engagements or programs.
